We provided measuring \photographs\ (we held the measuring tape at each measure and took a photo so there would be no error in reading and transcribing the tape measure) to the estimator at FloForm who looked at each photo and entered the numbers into their computerized template. It spit out a quote that indicated 5,200 and two seams for a laminate counter top. We were shocked at this price but decided to go ahead with the next step regardless - the \at home measure\. Three days after the measure, Flo Form informed us that our original estimate was calculated using a 12 foot calculation (144 inches) and not 146 inches (the actual measure). Therefore, the original quotation no longer stood and that they now wanted 650 more and would need to make two more seams in the counter top (for a total of 4). So now we would be paying 6,000 for a laminate countertop with 4 seams. We declined to move ahead and went to Western Marble and Tile and are moving ahead with them - for 6,100 for a quartz counter top that is BEAUTIFUL and has two seams. This is what we wanted originally but Flo Form gave us a quote for over 12,000 for the EXACT same counter top. When we returned to Flo Form to get our deposit back, they did not return the in-home measure fee (85) despite our argument that if they had entered the correct inches on the original estimate and indicated that it would be 6,000 and 4 seams we would never have gone ahead with an in-home measure. The mistake was theirs - not ours. We have the pictures to prove it. In short, Flo Form did not do right by us - they made an error and made us pay for it. Despite them being 2X the price of their competition. Give them a wide berth.
